Meor – Terms of Service

Welcome to Meor (“the App”), operated by Triple Tap AB (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the App. By accessing or using Meor, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. Introduction

  4. Services: Meor allows users to create and participate in text-based “challenges,” which may be decided by simple in-app games.

2. Eligibility

  1. Minimum Age: You must be at least 16 years old to use Meor. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
  2. Compliance: You must use Meor in accordance with all applicable laws and these Terms. You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

3. User Accounts

  1. Account Creation: To access certain features (including creating challenges), you must register an account by providing a valid email address, a username, and a password.
  2. Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account information updated.
  3. Username Requirements: Your username is publicly visible. You may not choose a username that is offensive, obscene, or otherwise violates these Terms. We use AI to moderate usernames, but moderation may not be 100% accurate.
  4. Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and are liable for all activities that occur under your account.
  5. Account Suspension/Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion for reasons including, but not limited to, violation of these Terms, illegal activity, harassment, or any conduct that we determine to be harmful to the App or its users.

4. Subscription and Payment

  1. Premium Subscription:
    • To create challenges, you must purchase a Premium subscription.
    • The subscription renews monthly unless canceled.
  2. Payment Processing:
    • All payments are handled by Apple In-App Purchases or Google Play Billing (collectively, “Platform Providers”).
    • By subscribing, you agree to abide by the relevant Platform Provider’s payment terms and policies.
  3. Refunds:
    • All subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or the Platform Provider’s policies.
  4. Cancellation:
    • You can cancel your subscription through your Apple or Google account settings.
    • Following cancellation, your access to Premium features continues until the end of the current billing cycle.

5. User-Generated Content

  1. Text-Based Challenges:
    • Users may create or participate in challenges by submitting text only.
    • No other media (images, video, etc.) is permitted.
  2. AI Moderation:
    • We use AI to moderate challenges and detect offensive or illegal content.
    • We do not guarantee the AI will detect all prohibited content; moderation is a best-effort measure.
  3. Right to Remove or Modify:
    • We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove or modify any content that violates these Terms, is offensive, or for any other reason.
    • AI may automatically generate or modify text (for example, challenge completions).
  4. User Responsibility:
    • You are solely responsible for any content you create or share in Meor.
    • Even if content is reviewed by AI and not flagged, you remain liable if it violates the law or these Terms.

6. AI-Generated Text

  1. Disclaimer: Some challenge text or outputs within Meor may be generated by AI and could contain errors, offensive language, or other unexpected results.
  2. No Guarantee of Accuracy: We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content. You use or rely on such content at your own risk.

7. Intellectual Property

  1. Ownership:
    • Meor (including all branding, logos, and trademarks) is owned and operated by Triple Tap AB and is protected by intellectual property laws.
  2. License to Use User Content:
    • By submitting any text-based challenge or related content (“User Content”), you grant Triple Tap AB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, adapt, modify, and distribute your User Content in connection with providing and improving the App.
    • This license does not transfer ownership of your User Content; you retain all rights, subject to the license granted.
  3. Reservation of Rights:
    • Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by Triple Tap AB.

8. Privacy and Data Handling

  1. Personal Data: We may collect personal data, including email address, username, password, usage data, IP addresses, device information, and other analytics.
  2. Third-Party Services:
    • We use Firebase (including but not limited to Auth, Firestore, Functions, AppCheck, Crashlytics, Remote Config) and RevenueCat to facilitate core functionality, subscription management, and other features.
    • Data may be transferred and stored outside your country based on these third-party services.
  3. Data Retention: We generally retain user data for 2 years, or longer if necessary to fulfill the service.
  4. Data Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time when you do not have an active subscription. Further details are in our Privacy Policy.
  5. Privacy Policy: Please review our Privacy Policy (linked within the App or on our website) for details on how we collect, use, and protect personal data in compliance with GDPR and CCPA.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  1. “As Is” Basis:
    • Meor is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  2. No Warranty:
    • We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that the AI will always detect offensive content.
    • We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any AI-generated content or the outcomes of any challenges.
  3. Limitation of Liability:
    • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Triple Tap AB and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for lost profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App.
  4. Indemnification:
    • You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Triple Tap AB, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  1. Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
  2. Jurisdiction: Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be brought in the Swedish courts, with Stockholm as the exclusive venue. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

  1. Right to Modify: We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time.
  2. Notification of Changes: We will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Meor after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Miscellaneous

  1. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
  2. No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
  3. Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Triple Tap AB regarding Meor and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
